Chinese drywall testing and removal
Testing to Identify Chinese Drywall
Damage from Chinese Drywall
It is estimated that between the years 2003 and 2007, some 36,000 residential and public buildings in Florida, and at least 100,000 buildings nationwide, were constructed from a material now known as Toxic Iron Sulfate (FeS2), or Chinese drywall.

Shipped to this country by Knauf, a German manufacturer, and originating from gypsum mines in Tianjin, China, it has been discovered that a combination of cellulose, moisture, and sulfur compounds, are reacting to cause the release of sulfurous acids. This results in an extremely unpleasant, rotten-egg smell, accompanied by the rapid corrosion and deterioration of metal pipes and wires, the premature malfunctioning of appliances, and the tarnishing of silver and other metals. Health issues including headaches, dizziness, eye irritation, sore throats, nosebleeds, and numerous other maladies are also being attributed to toxic Chinese drywall.

ADS Services is fully qualified to follow all Department of Health protocols in the testing, assessment, and documentation for levels the sulfur compound concentrations in a building caused by Chinese drywall. Once the presence of sulfur is verified, state-of-the-art remedial technology is employed to insure that, during the Chinese drywall and insulation removal procedure, no particulate material is allowed to migrate into attics, crawl spaces, and other enclosed areas. The atmosphere is thoroughly cleansed and all support studs, joists, and masonry are completely cleaned and HEPA vacuumed. When the remediation is completed and verified through testing, all permeable surfaces are encapsulated, and fresh insulation and drywall are installed.

ADS Services is completely certified and licensed to work with insurance officials and government agencies in the testing and safe removal of toxic Chinese drywall. Our sample collection methods, lab analysis, protocols, and reports are fully qualified to withstand scrutiny in a court of law. ADS has the experience, knowledge, and expertise to guide our clients through all aspects of this perplexing and difficult situation. By following ADS Services protocol, the problem will be completely and permanently eliminated in the safest, most expedient, and cost effective method possible.
